Anti-CMV Glycoprotein B Magnetic Beads-IP Kit Product Description

The Anti-CMV Glycoprotein B magnetic Beads, conjugated with Anti-CMV Glycoprotein B antibody, are used for immuneprecipitation (IP) of CMV Glycoprotein B proteins which expressed in vitro expression systems. For IP, the beads are added to a sample containing CMV Glycoprotein B proteins to form a bead-protein complex. The complex is removed from the solution manually using a magnetic separator. The bound CMV Glycoprotein B proteins are dissociated from the magnetic beads using an elution buffer.

Preparation
This antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, recombinant Human CMV gB (Catalog#10202-VCCH1; AAA45920.1) extracellular domain (Met 1-Lys 700) linked with the cytoplasmic domain (Arg 777-Val 907). The IgG fraction of the cell culture supernatant was purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.

CMV Glycoprotein B Background Information

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) (human herpesvirus 5) glycoprotein B, also referred as CMV gB or gB, which belongs to the herpesviridae glycoprotein B family. It is a 97-amino acid glycoprotein encoded by the ORF of UL55. Cytomegalovirus Glycoprotein B protein is the most abundant component of the envelope, a target of neutralizing antibodies with at least two defined neutralizing epitopes and an essential replication component. Cytomegalovirus Glycoprotein B protein plays important roles in HCMV entry, cell-cell spread of internal virions, and fusion of infected cells. In addition, Cytomegalovirus Glycoprotein B protein is one envelope protein capable of heparin binding. It forms a physical association with host cell annexin II independent of the presence of calcium.
