Quantitative determination of Human C7
1. Capture Antibody 1 mg/mL of rabbit anti-Human Complement component 7 monoclonal antibody (in PBS, pH 7.4). Dilute to a working concentration of 2 μg/mL in PBS before coating. (Catalog: # 13848-R113) 2. Detection Antibody 0.2 mg/mL of rabbit anti-Human Complement component 7 polyclonal antibody conjugated to horseradish-peroxidase (HRP) (in PBS, 50 % HRP-Protector, pH 7.4, store at 4℃). Dilute to working concentration of 0.5 μg/mL in detection antibody dilution buffer before use. 3. Standard Each vial contains 170 ng of recombinant Human Complement component 7. Reconstitute with 1 mL detection antibody dilution buffer. After reconstitution, store at -20℃ to -80℃ in a manual defrost freezer. A seven-point standard curve using 2-fold serial dilutions in sample dilution buffer, and a high standard of 1500 pg/mL is recommended.

C7 Background Information
Complement component 7 is a component of the complement system. It belongs to the complement C6/C7/C8/C9 family. It contains 1 EGF-like domain, 1 LDL-receptor class A domain, 1 MACPF domain, 2 Sushi (CCP/SCR) domains and 2 TSP type-1 domains. Complement component 7 serves as a membrane anchor. It participates in the formation of Membrane Attack Complex (MAC). People with C7 deficiency are prone to bacterial infection. It is a constituent of MAC that plays a key role in the innate and adaptive immune response by forming pores in the plasma membrane of target cells. Defects in C7 are a cause of complement component 7 deficiency (C7D). A rare defect of the complement classical pathway associated with susceptibility to severe recurrent infections, predominantly by Neisseria gonorrhoeae or Neisseria meningitidis.
