CD23 antigens

CD23 antigens general information

CD23 Gene ID 2208
CD23 Official Full Name Fc fragment of IgE receptor II
CD23 Alias FcεRII, BLAST-2, FCER2, CLEC4J
CD23 Cellular Expression T; B; Dendritic; Epithelial; Granulocyte; Macrophage; Platelet
CD23 Ligand/Receptor/Association IgE, CD21, CD11b, CD11c
CD23 Function Low affinity receptor for IgE, ligand for CD19, CD21 and CD81. Key molecule for B-cell activation and growth
CD23 Summary The protein encoded by this gene is a B-cell specific antigen, and a low-affinity receptor for IgE. It has essential roles in B cell growth and differentiation, and the regulation of IgE production. This protein also exists as a soluble secreted form, then functioning as a potent mitogenic growth factor. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]
