IL24 reagents

Jiang et al. (1995) used a differentiation induction subtraction hybridization strategy to identify and clone genes involved in growth control and terminal differentiation in human cancer cells. By this approach they identified melanoma differentiation-associated gene-7 (MDA7), whose expression is upregulated as a consequence of terminal differentiation in human melanoma cells. Forced expression of MDA7 was found to be growth inhibitory toward diverse human tumor cells (Jiang et al., 1996). Huang et al. (2001) determined that the human MDA7 gene encodes a protein with a predicted size of 23.8 kD, consisting of 206 amino acids. They concluded that MDA7 represents a differentiation-, growth-, and apoptosis-associated gene with potential utility for the gene-based therapy of diverse human cancers.
